A man in the outskirts of Eldoret town died on Wednesday after a tree he was cutting fell on him.
The 26-year-old man identified as Amos Okubasu died on the sport after the tree hit him on the head breaking his skull and neck.
He is said to have been assigned by his employer to cut the tree at the edge of the compound.
According to an eyewitness, the deceased embarked on the exercise of cutting the tree not knowing the danger he was putting himself in as the tree had been weakened by termites.
"He was busy cutting but the tree abruptly broke its stem hitting him. A huge branch fell on him, it hit his head breaking his neck and skull," one of the eyewitnesses told a local radio station
He said neighbors had attempted to rush him to the nearest health facility but nurses reported he had died long before arrival at the facility.
It is believed the deceased must have lost his life at the incident scene as he could not talk or move on his own at the time he was picked up.
The body was taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary in Eldoret town.
