A loaded trailer on Wednesday morning rammed into the speed breakers on the Likoni mainland side while negotiating the uphill lane from the ferry.
Kenya Ferry Services (KFS) said the incident saw the ramp partially obstructed. Ferries, however, continued to operate as scheduled.
Through its Twitter handle, KFS said 4 ferries were at the Likoni channel and 1 ferry at the Mtongwe channel during the morning peak time.
On Tuesday evening, ferry services were disrupted by the technical hitch on MV Nyayo which was later rectified.
"Motorists may experience delays as pedestrians are prioritised as a safety measure," said KFS.
Three ferries had been scheduled at the Likoni crossing.
"Mtongwe operations and the fourth ferry are delayed due to maintenance works."
