They argued that many of the security personnel in the country did not have any basic education on how to deal with terrorist when attacked. Speaking to the press in Nakuru town, the irate residents claimed that many panic and act out of fear when confronted by them.

"They need to be taught on what to do in case an armed terrorist appeared before them. Its unfortunate that they will find it hard to pick a terrorist from the crowd yet with proper training they can be able to spot them from a crowd,” said Brian Wekesa.

His views were echoed by Shamback Mureithi who cited that many of the police officers could not even detonate a bomb.

"I am sure some do not even know how a bomb looks like. I feel that this should be included in their curriculum especially now that Kenya was becoming a serious target for terrorists,” Mureithi said.

Alfred Mungai cited that the training should be included in their curriculum.

“In most developed countries police are trained on how to deal with such tragedies. It’s unfortunate that we lose some of our very best when fighting terrorists,” Mungai said.
