The saga surrounding the transfer of Kenneth Muguna from Gor Mahia to FKF Tirana of Albania continues to rage on, with the two clubs seemingly unable to agree on the transfer.
Reports emerged on Monday that Muguna, who was named the 2016 KPL Most Valuable player had not signed for the Albania based club.
The reports further indicated that the team failed to pay the $40,000 they agreed with the Kenyan Premier League Champions.
Gor Mahia deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala, who on Monday spoke to a local daily said their letter to the club on the issue has not been answered.
“Tirana is playing games. Muguna was quite expensive, and he still has a contract with the club. More than that, we have an agreement with Western Stima that they will be entitled to a certain fee from any transfer he makes. So how can we let him go for free?
“I’m concerned that all this may affect Muguna’s career because at the moment he is neither here nor there. For Musa the situation is a little easier because his contract has already ended and he opted not to renew it. I am just concerned that the club is doing things very slowly. If they were serious they should have signed him already,” Ngala said.
The Albanian club is headed by former Gor Mahia tactician Marcelo Fereira, who is said to be pushing for Muguna’s signature having worked with him at Gor.
