Transparency International held an integrity walk-in Eldoret town to mark International Anti-Corruption Day on Saturday.

North Rift coordinator Rose Sitati said their aim is to raise awareness on the dangers of corruption not only to an individual but the country at large.

“We want to ensure that we fight corruption in all ways by educating our people on what corruption is, who is involved and dangers and how it can be fought. We are tired of corruption and we want a free corruption country,” she said during the International Anti-Corruption Day in Eldoret town, Saturday. “We call upon residents to be our eye by reporting any corrupt case and promised to take stern actions against those involved since it is the duty of every Kenyan to fight this scum by not receiving or giving bribes. It is sad people are reluctant in sharing information concerning the same we promise to guarantee anonymity,” she added.

She, however, urged Kenyans to ensure they put the both the County and national governments on toes by making them accountable for every public single cent at their disposal.

She called upon both the county and national governments to adopt a service charter which shows residents the service they offer and the amount they are supposed to pay since it will greatly help in the fight against corruption.
