The department made the presentation during the County's Dialogue 2018 forum attended by all the departments and CeCs, on Thursday.

In a robust presentation by Chief Officer Eng. Albert Keno, the Department of Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works showcased its achievements in repairing and constructing new access roads.

Keno said they had also situated street lights which have been instrumental in reducing crime; witnessed a decline in road congestion caused by traffic jam, and ensured sanity in advertising by tightening the control systems to get rid of illegal adverts and branding.

The department further expressed joy that its notable achievements and the challenges were so in line with this years County Dialogue theme of "Delivering Results for Sustainable, Productive, Effective and Efficient Governments".

"We hope that as we embark on this second term of devolution we shall be able to incorporate the feedback of our citizens into our systems and deliver on our mandate as a department," said Keno.

"We shall play our role as a department and also coordinate with other county departments in delivering the collective goals of devolution."

The County Dialogue offers an opportunity for the citizens of Mombasa to probe the departments of the county government on the state of the departments and also participate in making policies that would strengthen devolution on the counties.
