Travelers have been left stranded after heavy rains swept away a bridge at Lunga Lunga area in Kwale County. Several roads have been rendered impassable as heavy rains continue to pound the county.River Ramisi also burst its banks, forcing residents and travelers to look for alternative routes to different destinations.According to area deputy county commissioner Josphat Biwott, residents are now forced to use the Lunga Lunga-Horo Horo road, which is still under construction."It's very unfortunate that the construction and rehabilitation of the Lunga Lunga road had to stop following the onset of heavy rains in the county,” said Biwott, as quoted by The Star.He also noted that the heavy rains have destroyed various roads in the region including Mwangulu-Kilimangodo and Kiwegu-Majoreni roads.Biwott cautioned residents and drivers to exercise caution during this rainy seasons to avoid accidents."It's everyone's responsibility to be cautious and avoid places that can cause loss of life during this rainy season," said Biwott.
