[Photo|KRCS]Transport operations along Kitale-Lodwar highway have been paralysed after Kainuk Bridge collapsed due to heavy rains.The Kenya Red Cross Society confirmed the incident Monday morning and urged motorists and pedestrians to seek alternative routes.No casualty cases were reported during the incident that left motorists and residents stranded.In October, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) warned motorists to keep off the bridge saying it damaged.In a statement, KeNHA said the embarkment walls of the bridge had been destroyed."Initially, only one side had been affected and traffic was able to pass using one side of the bridge since yesterday. KeNHA advises all motorists to be patient as an urgent solution is being implemented to address the situation," the statement read in part.Kainuk bridge serves as a crucial link between Marich Pass and Lokichar, along the Kitale - Lodwar - Nadapal Road.
