Travelers in Eldoret town have condemned the National Transport and Safety Authority's (NTSA) move of banning night travel for Public Service Vehicles (PSVs).
They said the decision was uncalled for and should be lifted.
“I want NTSA to reverse this ban with immediate effect since we were really suffering, I was supposed to report to work yesterday in Mombasa but because of the ban it was not easy to get a vehicle,” said Josephat Langat one of the passengers at the Eldoret Cross Roads Sacco, Thursday.
“The authority should have looked for an alternative way of reducing road accidents and not banning night travels, I have been stranded for now two days yet I was supposed to report to school on Wednesday,” added Grace Njoki, a student.
They called upon the Cabinet Secretary for Transport James Macharia to intervene for normalcy to return.
“We are calling upon the cabinet secretary for transport to intervene since if things remain as they are some of us will lose our jobs,” noted John Korir a banker.
