Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka has challenged political leaders to drop divisive politics and focus on uniting the country.
Lusaka said politicians have been engaging in tribal politics something that will continue hindering development in the country.
“There will be no development in the country if politicians will be leading in spreading hatred and inciting communities to fight. My request to elected Senators, MPs, Governors and MCAs is that they should embrace unity and sensitize Kenyans on the need to live together as brothers and sisters for the sake of development across all regions,” said Lusaka.
He said NASA and Jubilee politicians should stop the small exchanges and support President Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver quality services to Kenyans.
“We finished politics last year and I am urging those who lost to help those who won the election to serve the electorates as we wait for 2022. It is too early for political leaders to start talking about 2022 politics yet they have not finished their term,” said Lusaka.
He assured that the Senate will not tolerate counties to misuse and misappropriate funds meant for development.
“The money sent to counties from the National government should not be misused. Governors have a task to ensure the funds are used appropriately to develop the counties,” he added.
Lusaka was speaking at Mosocho in Kitutu Chache South on Friday evening during the burial of Professor Tumbo Oeri.
