The tribunal probing the Sh200 million bribery claims against Philip Tunoi has stopped.
This is after the Supreme Court ordered that he retires at the age of 70.
Chairman Sharad Rao said that his team lacks the legal mandate to probe the judge.
Rao, however, said his team will present a report to President Uhuru Kenyatta on what they have done so far.
Rao pointed out that the report will not make any findings because the tribunal ended its work prematurely.
Ex-justice Philip Tunoi’s bid to remain in the judiciary past the required age was thwarted after the Supreme Court ordered that he must retire at the age of 70.
The embattled justice went home together with deputy chief justice Kalpana Rawal together with chief justice Willy Mutunga who voluntarily retired before the required age.
