"We have confiscated more than 300 trolleys from the CBD and the practice is still on and anyone who will be found operating trollies in the CBD will be arrested and proscuted," he said.

He reiterated that the Uasin Gishu County government intended to address the issue of congestion in the town saying that trolley operators would be given specific places from where they will operate.

We are in the process of securing places for them to continue with their business. We will also issue them with stickers for identification so that in case a customer loses his or her property the responsible trolley operator can be identified easily," he said.

The CeC also revealed that the county would carry out a registration exercise for all trolley operators for security and planning purposes.

He urged the trolley operators to follow the directive and keep off the Central Business District to avoid confrontations with county askaris.
