Two Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders from the Nyanza region have threatened to form a rebellion against the party.

This comes after they lost in the ODM primaries.

Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo and Rarieda’s Nicholas Gumbo said the Raila Odinga lead party must move with speed to address the malpractices during the nominations.

Midiwo lost to Elisha Odhiambo while Gumbo, who was gunning for the Siaya Governor ticket, lost to incumbent Cornel Rasanga.

The two, who are Raila’s close allies, described the ODM nominations as a mess.

They said the results will affect the former Prime Minister’s performance in August general election.

“We will not kneel before ODM disputes tribunal for redress on bungled elections. If we don’t get the certificates by today evening, we are going to fight for our rights as independent candidates,” said Midiwo on Saturday in Gem.

They accused the party of imposing leaders on the people.

“If they do not give us our right, we will face off with their imposed candidates for a clash never seen before. The IEBC, not Oburu, will be the referee,” Gumbo said, adding that he beat Rasanga by over 70,000 votes.

“Rasanga does not have the capacity to lift you off poverty neither does he have the will to improve your lives,” he told the people.
