Legal trouble brews for Inspector General Joseph Boinett and DCI boss George Kinoti if the threats of legal action by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) are anything to go by.

The president of LSK Isaac Okero, in a strongly-worded statement, revealed that the society would be pursuing legal action against public officers who have violated court orders.

IG Boinett and DCI boss George Kinoti are doubtless in the crosshairs of LSK given the fact that they failed to comply with an order to present Miguna Miguna in court.

“Our nation faces perhaps the greatest challenge to the rule of law, with violation of rights and the brazen disregard of court orders by State and public officers. There is a palpable feeling of outrage and dismay at this display of contempt for the laws and the Constitution. There is genuine fear of what this portends for our democracy,'' Mr. Okero said.

LSK's words come in the wake of accusations of disregard for court orders leveled against state institutions.

Okero was speaking in Nairobi over the weekend.

He warned that disregard for court orders risked plunging the country into a state of anarchy.
