Kenyatta University (KU) his indicated that there are no records that show Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja was a former student.
The university filed an affidavit through their LegalOfficer, Aaron Tanui, stating that the Taita Taveta governor never applied nor obtaineda certificate, diploma and degree in project management, human resourcemanagement and Bachelor of Commerce.
According to KU Legal Officer, investigations revealedthat Samboja applied to the institution for a Master of Business Administrationdegree using certificates from Costa Rica.
He added that the Ethics and Anti-CorruptionCommission (EACC) had requested the university to verify whether he was astudent and as well as any other relevant information linking him to the institution.
“Armed with the documentsand information, the staff at Kenyatta University were instructed to scour therecords to ascertain not only their authenticity but also to elucidate thecircumstances under which they would have been issued,” Tanui said.
