Veteran trade unionist Francis Atwoli has now threatened to name MPs implicated in smuggling of cheap sugar from outside the country.
This comes hours after firebrand Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati claimed one of parliamentarians has been leading the business for years.
And at Khwisero on Saturday, the COTU Secretary General also challenged president Uhuru Kenyatta to crack whip on sugar cartels.
"Uhuru must crack a whip to end sugar smuggling menace. It is absurd that cartels are now hell-bent on rendering Kenyans jobless," he said.
Atwoli added: "I have a list of principal suspects who smuggle contraband sugar and I am ready to release their names."
For the third day in a row, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has continued to unleash on rogue businessman in the ongoing crackdown.
Already, over 2000 bags of illegal sugar were nabbed on Saturday as Matiang'i warned rogue businessmen to surrender.
