Slightly a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta recommended lifestyle audit on public servants, the move seems to have roughed Deputy President William Ruto wrongly.

At Mombasa, a visibly angry Uhuru said corruption must end in the country adding that lifestyle audit will expose those who plunder public resources.

"I swear to God corruption must end. We cannot sit and watch people terrorizing the country," said Uhuru.

Even though Ruto is yet to publicly show his dissatisfaction with the approach being used by his boss, he has at least shown his stand albeit through his trusted lieutenants.

On Saturday, Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi called for lifestyle audit on the Kenyatta family, a clear indication that the DP is annoyed with the strategy being used to nab the corrupt.

"When you tell us about lifestyle audit, it must be backdated. That is the on;y way it can be fair to all," he said in reference to Uhuru's kins.

At Nyamira, Borabu parliamentary aspirant Patrick Osero, a close associate of Ruto, dismissed the lifestyle audit as 'witch-hunt'.

"The war is not genuine since it only targets Ruto through backdoor. Let us be realistic and genuine. Witch-hunt won't help undermine Ruto's presidency."

Last week, a fiery Nandi senator Samson Cherargei also raised concerns about graft war, insisting that it was a choreographed move from presidency to undermine Ruto.

In a rejoinder on Thursday, Uhuru however, told off Ruto's allies adding that he will not be cowed to drop his strategy.
