The honeymoon between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto may now be over following the latest exchanges albeit through their proxies.

While Ruto maintains all is well, his foot soldiers have now openly accused Uhuru of belittling his Deputy in political forums, a move they say could further widen cracks.

In an interview with Citizen TV, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, a close associate of Ruto, accused Uhuru of mistreating his deputy.

"There are cracks in Jubilee and that is a fact. If the President does not address these issues, then let him be prepared to build a wall.

"He never invited Ruto in handshake and actually belittled him including by terming him as a man loitering aimlessly and so on. He never consulted him in lifestyle audit. This insincerity must stop," added Murkomen.

Initially, Jubilee Vice Chairperson David Murathe, a lieutenant of the president, had maintained that the president cannot be coerced to consult everyone.

"The president is in control and those busybodies who think he should always consult them should stop," he said.

Last week, Ruto's allies insisted that the war on graft is orchestrated by State House forces to undermine the DP, a claim the president has viciously denied.

Further, Murkomen said the entry of Raila Odinga in the matrix seems to be a hidden agenda to frustrate the DP's chances.
