The outspoken politician called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Directorate of Public Prosecutions to bar her from contesting for public office.

''For proper investigations on this matter, we demand that Kirinyaga governor, Honourable Ann Mumbi Waiguru be brought before relevant parliamentary committees for questioning and the office of the DPP and EACC that cleared her on the previous sh791 million scam at NYS bar her from contesting from public office,'' Senator Malala said.

He also urged the County Assembly of Kirinyaga to invoke Article 181 of the constitution and initiate the process of her impeachment.

His strong words amid growing public concern over revelations that billions of shillings were swindled at the National Youth Service (NYS) and the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).

The Kirinyaga has long maintained that he is innocent and had nothing to do with the NYS saga.
