Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua is likely to find himself in the same situation as former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti if claims by one of the officials of Wiper that he did not resign from the political outfit are substantiated.

The official, who identity is yet to be disclosed, told the Star that Mutua is still a member of Wiper even though he was cleared by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vie on Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket in the August General elections.

“I can confirm Mutua is still a Wiper member since we do not have his resignation papers anywhere. He even owes the party over Sh1 million in subscription fees,” the official told the star.

Wavinya Ndeti landed in trouble when one of the residents took her to court on the grounds that she belonged to two political outfits, Wiper and Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU).

Kyalo Peter Kyuli, a registered voter, moved to court seeking to have the  Ndeti’s nomination revoked ahead of the next general elections. The assertion of the voter was supported by Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama.

Kyuli argued that the aspirants did not meet the requirements of IEBC.

Wavinya Ndeti has, however, appealed the case and it has been confirmed that she only belongs to one party.
