Political rivalry between President Donald Trump and his predecessor Barack Obama marred the latter's early tour to South - East Asia following the poor reception at Hawaii.

Throughout his campaigns to White House, a tough talking Trump continuously poked holes at Obama's administration and even vowed to depot him to Kenya once he took over.

Obama, a Kenya - American president, was born to a Kenyan father, Barack Obama senior and an American mother, Ann Dunham from Honolulu, Hawaii.

And throughout his life, the young Obama grew up in Hawaii, a place he regards as his home even during his time in White House, due to separation of his parents.

But Trump's Saturday tour to the North Pacific Island rekindled the endless rivalry with hundreds of locals in Honolulu suburbs carrying placards in support of Obama.

Although no running battles were reported, says the Washington Post, Trump's critics mocked him by carrying placards written 'welcome to Kenya' in reference to his unkind words to the East African nation.

During his presidency, Obama toured Kenya once in 2015 in a four days tour and conspicuously, he failed to visit his paternal family in Western Kenya. He however regards Honolulu as his home.

President Trump will also tour Japan, Republic of Korea, Vietnam and the Philippines in his 12 day tour.
