A Texas based political media company closely associated with US President Donald Trump ran smearing campaigns against Kenya's opposition leader Raila Odinga, reports the Daily Nation.
Harris Media, which also ran online campaigns for Trump, is believe to have been running anonymous site: TheReal Raila and Uhuru for Us, claims London based Privacy International report.
The online campaigns either targeted Odinga or touted Uhuru Kenyatta's accomplishment as President before August polls.
"The digital trails from both of Kenyan digital campaigns leads leads firmly back to Austin, Texas outfit.
"TheReal Raila and another site which links back to Uhuru for Us 'candidates of Kenya," share and IP address with Harris Media's own website," says the report.
Further, the report says, Uhuru for Us Twitter account, created in March 2017still appears linked to a Harris Media email address.
However, Privacy International adds that it did not uncover how Harris Media, which largely featured for Republican party in November 2016 polls, devised the targeting for its online campaigns in Kenya.
Although Uhuru was announced winner of the controversial elections, Raila petitioned him in Supreme Court, which eventually nullified his victory.
In his quest for electoral justice, Odinga maintains that he won the August elections despite negative publicity by the Texas based company.
