The fund whose patron is Thika Town MP Alice Ng'ang'a is aimed at helping the needy and bright students fund their education at all levels.

Successful applicants will be sponsored with fees of between Sh7,000 and Sh15,000.

Thika Town Constituency CDF chairman Ephraim Njihia said so far, they have disbursed more than Sh20 million from the fund about 500 students.

"The fund has been attracting a lot of applicants since it was launched by our MP and the Deputy President William Ruto in August last year. Last August, we sponsored 250 students with Sh18 million with some getting full sponsorships," said Njihia.

The sponsorships, Njihia said, are given thrice a year and this one will be the last of 2015.

He asked those whose areas are yet to be reached to come out in numbers and be vetted.
