The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has moved to fully digitise its operations.

This means teachers will now access more services at the click of a button on their desktop.

The online services include the declaration of wealth and a system for calculating salary arrears and taxes.

TSC Chief Executive Nancy Macharia, in an end of year report, said the commission was working towards ensuring all operations are fully automated.

"We continued with the digitisation of our services and staff members are using wealth and liabilities declaration platform to file their individual returns online," Macharia said, adding the automation would be key as it makes strides in monitoring and strengthening performance.

She said they hope to save money through the automation of the wealth declaration forms.

"The automation has been shared and approved by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)," Macharia added.

TSC Human Resource Director Josephine Maundu hailed the salary arrears programme, saying it had made work easier.

"This programme will save time and provide a platform for correct tabulation of arrears and ensure the correct amount is paid," Maundu told Saturday Standard.

The forms can be accessed from the commission's website which will also host the online pay slips, retired teachers' pension status and performance appraisal.
