Speaking at Shimo la Tewa High School in Mombasa on Thursday during the release of KSCE results, Macharia said the performance would be analysed and appropriate decisions reached at.

According to Macharia, the just released KCSE exams were not a reflection of what should have been expected.

"The just released KCSE exams will be analysed and those schools found to have done poorly looked into. This is because we cannot have school heads derailing the progress of Kenya's education system," she said.

The sentiments were echoed by Knec chair Prof George Magoha who called on all school heads to put maximum effort in their work.

"We cannot encourage teachers who are not working in the country. Lazy principals will not be condoned and this is an issue that must be discussed and appropriate measures were taken," reiterated Magoha.
