The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has mounted a strong defence of its decision to sack Wilsson Sossion and others nominated for political positions. In a statement seen by newsrooms, the commission rejected claims that the move was politically-motivated and was not inspired by the desired to meddle in the leadership affairs of teachers' unions.''The law requires teachers who join politics to resign. That is the law,'' the TSC statement partly read.TSC axed KNUT secretary-general on the grounds that he had been nominated by ODM into a political position.Omboko Milemba, MP Emuhaya, and Donald Tonui MP Bomet were also axed. The axed leaders railed against the move, saying that it was outrageously political and vowed to stay put.
