The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has permanently discarded the services of twenty-two teachers found to have sexually assaulted students.

In information embedded and circulated in the commission's website, the named teachers are not even eligible to teach in any private schools in the land. The most recent list has all the dismissed teachers being male as compared to last year's list that featured some female teachers.

The information further noted that anyone found to contravene the directive and goes ahead to hire them will be fined an amount of up to sh100, 000.

The teachers had been suspended in 2015 pending investigations that have since revealed they are guilty of having sex with their students. The offence normally referred to as carnal knowledge in the TSC regulations is punishable by dismissal from the profession.

This comes at a time when there are concerned reports that most cases of school drop outs and pregnancies are being witnessed in most schools. The cases are widely attributed to bodaboda operators who offer quick cash to the money starved school girls.

Blame has also been directed to parents who fail to cater for individual needs of their children hence predisposing them to sex pests.
