The commission is set to hire over eight thousand teachers to serve in the primary and secondary section.

Macharia further clarified that they don't charge any amount from employment seekers. She alluded that she had received information that unknown individuals were asking for bribes from the general public using fake letters with forged signatures.

Macharia further clarified that shortlisting of candidates was done by boards of management acting as agents of the commission at the TSC offices.

Earlier, TSC had intended to hire 8,672 teachers to serve in primary and secondary schools. One thousand teachers will be posted to primary schools while the other 7,672 will be posted to secondary schools.

Macharia also informed interested candidates that the recruitment process involved submitting application forms to Teachers service commission against the advertised vacancies.
