Speaking in Wamunyu, Jehoshaphat Muli who is the KNUT branch Treasurer said that preparation of the Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) documents are more workload to the headteachers.

He said teachers performance is going down due to using a lot of time filling the online forms.

"We have been unable to monitor the schools and curriculum due to the added responsibility of the commission. Filling that document consumes a lot of time," said Muli who doubles up as the Mbaikini primary school headteacher.

He observed that TSC should fulfill its part of the bargain of promoting teachers who furthered their studies.

Muli noted that the teachers used a lot of resources and took loans from banks to pursue higher education and are yet to see the fruits of their struggle.

"The government should fulfill their promises, these teachers took loans to further their duties but all for what?" he asked.

The KNUT official said that the union won't support delocalization of teachers since it is in bad faith.

He said the ministry should consult education stakeholders before deciding on something.
