The Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) is soon going to conduct interviews for post primary deputy principals who will be posted in other stations come next term.
The qualified 50 teachers will be posted in the stations to help curb the shortage.
The TSC director, Enow Alio revealed that the body will also promote graduates who have served in job group L for more than three years. He said this decision was arrived at after the commission found out that most of the schools do not have deputies employed by the commission.
‘‘Most of our schools do not have deputies appointed by the commission. That is why we want to start this exercise of appointing the deputies and sending them to different stations. By the beginning of next term, those who will have qualified will be promoted,’’ he said.
The teachers who are active in co curricular activities and have a clean record will also be considered for the promotions.
This is the first time TSC is conducting a promotion exercise and Kibera residents have expressed their contentment in the promise saying most of the teachers in Kenya work hard but are barely promoted.
