Speaking during the release of 2017 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), Nancy Macharia, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said 40 teachers were suspected to have engaged in this year’s exam irregularities.

She said the teachers will be deregistered.

“I have received a list of 40 teachers who were involved in exam irregularities. We will take stern action against them and then finally as we have done before after they are found culpable we shall dismiss and deregister them so that they do not step in any of our schools,” Macharia said.

In addition, Macharia said that teachers who have been in the same school for more than none consecutive years will be transferred to nearby schools in a humane manner.

“We shall do a mammoth one (transfer) this holiday and we shall continue to ensure that those who have served for none years and more are delocalized,” she said.

“Obviously at the commission we are trying to do this in a humane manner and trying to ensure that you do not go to a lesser school and this is all to ensure quality education,” Macharia added.
