Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Chepkoilel branch secretary Sammy Bor has urged the Teachers Service Commission(TSC) to absorb ECDE teachers on a permanent and pension terms.“I want to urge TSC to act with speed and employ ECDE teachers instead of living it to the county governments who are paying them meager salaries of less than Sh10,000. What can you do this amount in this time and age?” he said in Eldoret town, Sunday.“ECDE teachers go through a lot in teaching our children, therefore, they deserve good remuneration.I call upon TSC to come up with a scheme of service and absorb them since they are the foundations of our children’s Education,” he added. He, however, called upon the Uasin Gishu government to increase the salaries paid to ECDE teachers saying the current amount is a drop in the ocean.“I call upon the Uasin Gishu government to at least increase their salaries from the current sh 10,000 to at least 20,000 for them to live a comfortable life,” noted Bor.
