Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has broken hi silence regarding his appoitment to the Cabinet.
Questions have been raised over Tuju's role in Cabinet following huis appoitment last month since no docket was assigned to him.
More queries have been raised over his failure to atten the cabinet nominee vetting held on Thursday and Friday.
According to Tuju, it was not necessary to attend the vetting since he will be sitting in Cabinet as the Secretary General of the ruling party to ensure that the President and his deputy’s vision is kept alive.
“We are borrowing from best practice globally, strong parties keen on ensuring that its manifestos are implemented to the later have their officials in Cabinet,” said Tuju.
The idea of a minister without a portfolio has been borrowed from Tanzania’s Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and Uganda’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) and China’s CPC.
