Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju is already facing opposition moments after he was nominated to the Cabinet Secretary without portfolio post.
The former Rarieda MP has since been tipped to the position, one of the newly introduced positions under President Uhuru Kenyatta's second and last term.
This means that he will universally adopt any docket in the absence of the respective cabinet secretary.
However, his nomination has been questioned by opposition lawyer Nelson Havi who has termed it, 'unnecessary'.
According to the National Super Alliance legal representative, while addressing the press in Nairobi on Sunday, Tuju's nomination is just a scheme by President Uhuru Kenyatta to reward loyalists.
''Tuju is partisan and will not add any value to the cabinet, he has been given the position to propagate the Jubilee policy but nothing good should be expected from him,'' Havi said.
According to the majority leader in the National Assembly, Aden Duale, in an earlier briefing, Tuju will not be subjected to vetting by the parliamentary vetting committee.
Despite the nomination, the former lawmaker will retain his post at the helm of the party.
He will also not be accorded an office like his counterparts, with there being chances that he will operate from his Jubilee office.
