Jubilee party secretary general Raphael Tuju has now dismissed claims that most of those whose names were forwarded for nominations to the next parliament by the party comprised of cronies and girlfriends of senior party members.
Speaking to Radio Maisha during an Interview, Tuju alleged that those behind the said information were those who had either lost during the nominations exercise conducted in May or were just bitter.
He added that the party followed particular criteria on deciding who was and who was not to be nominated.
"We gave priority to those who were closely second during the party nominations. Those who were defeated with around 200 votes had a headstart. No girlfriend or cousin was nominated because we keenly followed the allegations and came up with nothing. Those behind the rumour must be those who lost out in nominations or are just angry," he said.
The party was hit with protests three weeks ago from members who felt the right procedure was not followed in picking the nominees leading to the nominations of cronies at the expense of other deserving members.
