Former Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju has claimed that residents in Mt Kenya region are failing to register as voters since they have bought Cord leader Raila Odinga's 'propaganda.'
Speaking during a morning show at Gukena FM on Thursday, Tuju alleged that Raila has brainwashed Central Kenya residents by claiming that President Uhuru Kenyatta has deprived his backyard any meaningful development.
"There is Raila's propaganda that the President has not helped Central region, to make the people angry and not register as voters and this seems to have worked," he said.
Tuju, who is Jubilee Party Secretariat boss, advised Uhuru supporters not to fall prey to the propaganda but instead channel their energy in listing as voters in large numbers.
"Let us not be deceived by Raila's rhetoric. He is only interested in insults and triggering unnecessary emotions," Tuju remarked.
The former Cabinet Minister further urged JP supporters to move on from the mentality of the tyranny of numbers.
"The opposition is making strides. We must run because they will catch up with us if we keep moving this slowly," he added.
He said about two million voters must get listed from the Central Kenya region for Jubilee to meet their target of 6 million.
