Tuju, a former Rarieda MP said Odinga was fantasising on his Luo Nyanza stronghold narrative instead of reaching out to electorates across the country which could boost his presidential ambitions.

He said: “He (Odinga) is like a fish swimming in a pond, not knowing there is an ocean as well.”

Tuju further asked the Luo supporters of Odinga to accept defeat if he is trounced by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“You should be prepared to absorb the shock that comes with Uhuru defeating your son,” he said as quoted by The Star.

Tuju was speaking at Arram village in Rarieda during the burial ceremony of David Odongo, the brother of former Kenya Pipeline MD George Okungu.

Tuju who served as a presidential advisor to former head of state Mwai Kibaki said Luos needed to focus beyond the elections if they want to eat the “national cake” too.

He also dismissed any possibility of joining the “dirty Luo Nyanza politics”.

“Luos need to be like a giraffe. They need to look beyond the August 8 election because life must go on,” he said.
