Head of Jubilee Party secretariat Raphael Tuju has ruled out joining the ODM saying that the current political arrangement in Nyanza won't accommodate him.
Tuju, according to the Star, cited the Odinga family factor as his reason not to join the Raila-led party.
"Do you think other people have a room in ODM when Raila is vying for the presidency; his elder brother, Oburu Oginga for Bondo parliamentary seat, while his daughter is also eyeing the Kibra seat. Ruth Odinga has also declared that she will contest the governor's position in Kisumu County, while Jakoyo Midiwo who is also their cousin is also vying?" the former Cabinet minister said.
He made the remarks on Saturday at Kandaria Secondary School during the burial of former councillor John Okello.
The former lawmaker whose development record during his tenure as Rarieda MP has been praised by many politicians in the area is currently in-charge of the Jubilee Party Secretariat that is spearheading President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid.
Tuju's differences with Raila played out during the 2007 elections when he was the only MP from Luo Nyanza to support President Mwai Kibaki's re-election at time when the whole region had rallied behind the ODM leader.
