Jubilee Party secretary-general Raphael Tuju has shed more light on his role in the Cabinet.
Tuju was appointed as a CS but he was not given any portfolio.According to Tuju, he will be assisting Cabinet Secretaries to deliver President Uhuru Kenyatta’s pledges.
Mr Tuju said his role would also include being the political voice in the Cabinet, to allow the CSs to focus on their work.
“When an issue that should be in the domain of one CS is made political, then it lands right on my desk. It is my role to make the political comments without anybody accusing those particular CSs of engaging in politics,” Tuju is quoted by Nation.
Tuju was not vetted by parliame4nt like 9 other Cabinet secretaries.
The former foreign affairs minister was speaking in the wake of the first cabinet meeting convened by President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi last week.
