Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has come out to defend the delayed naming of a new cabinet by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Tuju said the president is not compelled by the constitution to name his new team.
He said the president could take even longer to make the appointments.
“There is absolutely no delay since there is a Cabinet in place, appointed by Uhuru Kenyatta," he said.
“It can even take a year. Whatever time the President decides, it his prerogative,” Mr Tuju added.
“On this, Kenyans are being either mischievous, impatient, or just idle, and want something. Ministers are just individuals. What matters are the programmes, and those ones are being rolled out,” he said.
