The Jubilee Party has insisted that they have nothing to discuss with IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati, with the October 26 polls three days away.
The chair had requested to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta today, Monday, with the commission facing challenges to conduct a credible election.
The Jubilee Party and the NASA coalition have been engaged in a push and pull battle, with the latter insisting no elections will be held on Thursday.
According to Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju Kenyatta would not meet Chebukati, since they ‘had nothing to discuss’.
“Whatever issues NASA has, what can we do about them? Nothing! The Supreme Court ordered we have the elections within 60 days so if NASA wants to boycott, they can proceed,” said Mr Tuju.
According to Tuju, the IEBC should also head to the Supreme Court if they are unable to conduct polls as directed.
The NASA coalition has been pushing for reforms before the country goes to the polls again, but with the 60-day period as directed by the Supreme Court elapsing, the country is caught in a difficult political situation.
NASA leader Raila Odinga withdrew from the polls three weeks ago, but has continued to ask his supporters to stay away from voting come the 26th October.
