Alego Usonga MP Muluan Omondi has ruled out political significance of former Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju's appointment to Jubilee Party secretariat.
Speaking on Wednesday, the legislator said Tuju, who has been tasked with running the party's political affairs, will not be able to marshal support for the party in Luo Nyanza.
“I did not want to comment on Jubilee affairs but I am sure that Tuju will not deliver any vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta from Nyanza,” he said.
Tuju was largely viewed as a compromise to hold the Jubilee Party's top secretariat post.
This was in bid to counter any possible fall out within the newly formed party.
“Tuju cannot even marshal enough votes in his constituency and that puts him in no capacity to scuttle ODM votes in Rarieda and Nyanza,” he added.
The lawmaker was speaking at Tula Village in North Alego.
