Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has warned against the misunderstanding of the handshake between President Uhuru and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
According to Tuju, politicians should not rush to amend the constitution just because of a handshake.
Tuju was responding to the ongoing debate where a section lawmakers want a referendum to introduce the Prime Minister position with two deputies.
“This did not mean that we will create a place for anyone in government but it signified a sign of peace in the country. We should not rush to amend the constitution just because of a handshake which meant that the leaders wanted peace in the country,” said Tuju.
Speaking on Wednesday evening in Ol Kalou, Tuju said that the country will not return to campaign mood anytime soon.
He maintained that the Jubilee government is against the expansion of the executive.
