Tullow Oil Company is set to construct an oil company in Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu County.
Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has said the county government will offer full support to the company to supply oil in the region, and create job opportunities for thousands of youths.
“Once Tullow Oil Company sets its foot in the county, we will benefit from employment opportunities and improved infrastructure," he said.
Speaking after Tullow Kenya Development Project team paid him a courtesy call on Tuesday to discuss on county's view on setting up company to supply oil, Chemno welcomed the move saying it will benefit residents.
He added that they will comply with National Environment Management Authority (Nema) to get the environmental project report for the project to start.
"After we have been given by an okay by Nema, we will determine the route to be used by the fuel tankers, thereafter we will meet to finalise the process," he said.
