The Tourism Sector in the Coast region is set to receive a boost after the French government agreed to support plans of creating a French Center at the Technical University of Mombasa.
Upon completion, the center will offer French classes to learners from different parts of the nation and the entire world.
Speaking at the institution, French Ambassador to Kenya Antoine Sivan said his government was ready to support the tourism sector in the region through different ways.
Sivan said the centre will add value to the flourishing tourism sector in the county.
The ambassador held talks with different members of the staff at the university led by acting VC Laila Abubakar.
The Mombasa-based French Language and Cultural Centre, Alliance Francais, has also expressed commitment in the project.
Abubakar said the immense potential in the hospitality and tourism industry has forced the institution to think of ways to empower learners so that they can benefit from the same.
