The Justice Service Commission (JSC) has found out that Judge Philip Tunoi did, in fact, meet with his Geoffrey Kiplagat.
The meeting is said to have taken place at a petrol fuel station opposite the communication authority on Waiyaki way.
The judge is accused of receiving a sh200 million bribe from Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero to help him get a verdict favouring him over the petition case filed by Kabete MP, Ferdinand Waititu challenging his win as the Nairobi governor.
Witnesses in the case revealed to JSC that Kiplagat was awarded VIP treatment both at the office of the governor and at City Hall. They said Kiplagat was using a VIP entrance when he visited the governor’s office. Some said Kiplagat received a warm welcome at the Judge’s office.
The committee also found out that both Kidero and Tunoi were in frequent communication with Kiplagat but later, the communication ended after the ruling was delivered.
Kidero and Tunoi have, however, refuted the bribery accusations insisting that they have never met each and that they are not corrupt people.
