Judge Philip Tunoi will soon appear before the tribunal formed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to answer to allegations of bribe.
This comes after the court dismissed activist Okia Omtatah’s petition challenging the tribunal formed.
Judge Tunoi is accused of receiving a bribe from Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero to help him secure his job as the governor of Nairobi County. The judge is accused of receiving the bribe through a former Kass FM journalist who claims was the middle man between the two.
The investigations will start on April 4, 2016 where Tunoi will face the 7 member tribunal to clear his name. The exercise will be done at the tribunal’s office in Nairobi.
Kidero had earlier said that the tribunal should be formed to investigate the judge so that he can also be said to be free.
‘‘If the judge is not found guilty and cleared of the allegations, my name too will be cleared as well,’’ said Kidero.
Both Kidero and Tunoi have, however, refuted the claims stating that they do not know each other personally.
