Turbo sub county deputy Commissioner Kinyua Wanjau has warned boda boda operators colluding with criminals, saying they will be arrested.
Speaking to boda boda operators at Forestal trading center on Saturday, Wanjau said police are investigating claims that some boda boda operators are working with criminals.
Wanjau said his office has received complaints from the public about cases where operators turn out to be robbers, warning that those caught will be dealt with according to the law.
“Let those of you (boda boda’s) working with criminals stop or face the full force of the law, we are not going to tolerate such acts,” said the deputy commissioner.
Wanjau also warned operators leasing the bikes to criminals to commit criminal activities, saying reports indicate that some criminals are leasing bikes, which they later use to accomplish their criminal acts.
The deputy commissioner said that police in the sub county will intensify patrols in order to arrest the culprits.
Wanjau called on the support of boda boda operators, noting that it will be critical in the fight against crime.
The deputy commissioner observed that bodaboda’s could have information that will help nab criminals.
