Chemno said that a committee to investigate and propose recommendations on the matter would be established soon.

He said that teenage girls must be given time to study so that they can have better lives and contribute to development.

Chemno said that the future of girls in the county could be blink if the rampant pregnancies are not stamped out.

The deputy governor directed chiefs across the county to report such cases when they occur for action to be take.

Chemno also warned against cultural practices that demean women and girls such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) saying that perpetrators would be dealt with accordingly.
