Turbo MP Elisha Busienei has lauded the government for allocating more money to security in the 2015-2016 budget.

The government allocated Sh223.9b to the security docket in the 2015-2016 budgetary allocations unveiled by Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich in Parliament on Thursday.

Speaking to the press on Thursday at Eldoret town, the lawmaker said that the move is the right step towards tackling insecurity.

He said that increased funding to the security will further help streamline the country’s safety and boost surveillance.

“The government has done well and we hope that the money allocated to security will be used to streamline services in a bid to tame crime,” he said.

Busienei said that the country has suffered security setbacks, and that it is time for the government to act effectively.

He further urged security agencies to utilize the funds well and ensure Kenyans’ safety has is restored and guaranteed.
